For some obscure reason that not even I know about the definition for 'night worker' is different for LGV and PCV drivers. For LGV it covers the hours between 00:00 and 04:00 whilst for PCV it is 01:00 and 05:00.

The Work Time Regulations (WTR) place limits on both driving and duty times for drivers who are night workers but by collective / workforce agreement drivers can opt out of that part, all other aspects of WTR remain in force though.

If you are an international driver you need to be aware that some countries restrict the drive time between breaks for solo PCV drivers to 3 hours rather than the normal 4.5 so if travelling abroad make sure you look up local regulations.
